After lots of talking and e-mailing, the Homecoming 2013 team came together this afternoon. Vittorio drove down from Formello to Rome with almost no forewarning. The rendez-vous happened without much specific planning, but then again a restored WW2 Jeep is not hard to spot in the city.
The freshly-washed 1943 MB showed off the wonderful patina acquired in the 28 years since its last repaint. After much peeking and poking, opening and shutting of hood, glove boxes and other areas, we drove around the neighborhood showing off to the few Saturday afternoon passer-bys. Although the city environment is hardly ideal for Jeep driving school, Vittorio let Gregory drive the MB for a few minutes. Francesca snapped this picture of the team – from left to right Vittorio, Livia and Gregory. And, of course, The Jeep!
