A Jeep Comes Home adventure has started with the arrival at the JFK airport in New York. The weather was horrible, with rain and fog. It seemed winter.
Once we (Vittorio, Gregory and Livia) took the Wrangler given to us by Jeep (Fiat-Chrysler) we headed for New Jersey where we would meet a very important person for our adventure: David Welch, Vice President of the MVPA (Military Vehicle Preservation Association). A few hours in the terrible traffic of Manhattan and we are in Basking Ridge, where we will meet Welch. A hamburger dinner while talking about Jeeps is perfect. Just enough time to give the Vice President a Crest, an ASI tie and the official A Jeep Comes Home t-shirt before we go to sleep. We are still jetlagging and the time zones are not forgiving… Today the Willys customs are beginning (it arrived yesterday in New York).
