Diary #9: To Toledo!

After 70 years our Willys is back in Toledo, where it was built. The Cleveland-Toledo stretch was not very long in terms of distance, but we fretted about the electrical issues of the past couple of days and the weather. We shouldn’t have worried. The engine worked fine and with the Wrangler leading everything went well; Vittorio and Gregory took turns driving. The feared downpour eventually arrived, but only after we were safely inside the Yark dealership in Toledo. Our route took us along the shores of lake Erie, with its many beautiful residences. After Sandusky we cut inland along Route 20 and – after a fatiguing urban section – we came to the dealership. Yark welcomed us with open arms and immediately added us to its own 32nd anniversary celebrations. A couple of hours passed very quickly amidst greetings, souvenir pictures, interviews and other things. Mission accomplished!
