Diary #15: goodbye, Dave

On the final leg I drove to Sterling (NJ) to meet up again with MVPA Vice President  Dave Welch. When we arrived he had loaned us a complete range of spare parts for use in emergency, in addition to filling up our gas and oil tanks. Now we are back in his workshop to witness the great progress on his Weasel restoration, as well as to return the spares – minus the poins and condenser we replaced in Medina while troubleshooting the electrical problem. We also saved a kitten, no older than ten days, found hiding under a GPW in very bad shape with parasites and conjunctivitis. Dave’s wife will look after him tomorrow. After saying a warm goodbye to Welch, it was time to head back to the same hotel we had used three weeks ago. The return flight to Rome is scheduled for tomorrow.
